Admission Process

1. Undergraduate (UG) Admission (B.E./B.Tech.)

Eligibility

  • Pass in 10+2 (PUC/Class XII) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Electronics.

  • Minimum aggregate marks as prescribed by VTU and the Government of Karnataka. (Visvesvaraya Technological University)

Admission Process

  1. Complete 10+2 or equivalent.

  2. Appear for the required entrance examination:

    • KCET (Karnataka students)

    • COMEDK UGET (private engineering colleges)

    • Management quota (Students from all states can seek admission by submitting a Migration Certificate.)

  3. Participate in counselling

  4. Verify original documents.

  5. Pay the admission fee.

  • SSLC (10th) Marks Card

  • II PUC/12th Marks Card

  • Entrance Exam Rank Card

  • Transfer Certificate (TC)

  • Migration Certificate (if applicable)

  • Study Certificate

  • Caste/Income Certificate (if applicable)

  • Aadhaar Card

  • Passport-size photographs

2. Postgraduate (PG) Admission (M.Tech., MBA, MCA)

Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline with the required minimum percentage/CGPA.

  • Admission is generally based on:

    • Karnataka PGCET

    • GATE (for M.Tech.)

    • Management quota (Students from all states can seek admission by submitting a Migration Certificate.)

Admission Process

  1. Meet the eligibility criteria.

  2. Write GATE or Karnataka PGCET (if applicable).

  3. Participate in counselling.

  4. Submit original documents.

  5. Pay the prescribed fees.

  6. Complete admission formalities.

3. Ph.D. Admission

Eligibility

Admission Process

  1. VTU publishes the Ph.D. admission notification (generally twice each academic year).

  2. Submit the online application.

  3. Appear for the VTU Entrance Test (VTU-ETR) unless exempted (e.g., UGC-NET/JRF, CSIR-NET, GATE, CEED, and certain other national qualifications).

  4. Qualified candidates attend an interview/viva-voce.

  5. Final selection is based on:

    • 70% weightage for the entrance test.

    • 30% weightage for the int
